About Us

Our Story

At Samch, we are reinventing an ancestral symbol: the babouche. Faithful to its heritage, we infuse a new life into it through a blend of craftsmanship, contemporary design, and sustainable commitment. Each pair is conceived as a bridge between eras and styles. Crafted from upcycled materials, our babouches are shaped by artisans with exceptional expertise.
They tell a story of transmission, respect, and reinvention.
Our collections — Skins, Kiribiss, Home, and Abrid — are paths to explore: raw colors, bold contrasts, or a tribute to travel. Reclaim the existing. Move forward with purpose. Wear differently. This is our way of walking toward tomorrow.

Our Sustainable Journey

At Samch, our dedication extends beyond stunning aesthetics and unmatched
comfort. We are pioneers of eco-conscious practices, responsibly sourcing

materials and promoting traditional artisan techniques combined with modern

sustainable manufacturing processes.
Our dedication to environmental and social responsibility is intricately

integrated into every stitch and seam of our balghas.

By operating our own factory, we can ensure that our artisans work under fair,

safe, and respectful conditions. Promoting a culture of respect and collaboration,

we are committed to supporting the well-being of the individuals who bring our

Our Vision

The Founder

The journey began with Omar Bouhafa, a creative visionary fueled by his adventurous spirit and passion for travel. Drawing inspiration from his global experiences, Omar set out to create a shoe brand that would honor his family’s deep-rooted tradition of shoemaking.
With access to a substantial stock of leftover leather, he pondered on how best to repurpose it, leading to the birth of the Samch balgha. Additionally, he used upcycled car tires to add a unique and sustainable touch to his creation.
